The human remains discovered last week in Cowley County have been identified as those of a missing Sumner County woman.

39-year-old Emilie Porterfield-Hill of Geuda Springs was reported missing on July 16. Her remains were found on July 23 by a landowner near a private pond in southwestern Cowley County. Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti says early indications do not show any signs of acute injuries, but that the investigation into Hill’s death remains ongoing.
