With school around the corner, supplies are being gathered for those in need.
This Saturday, a school bus will be available at the Independence Farmer's Market at the corner of Chestnut and 8th St. to fill with back-to-school items.
Independence Chamber of Commerce President says there's a great need for school supplies during the entire year.
Wilson says organizer Andy Taylor will be on hand to collect individual items, and cash donations are always helpful to allow them to buy items in bulk.
The event starts at 7:30 a.m. Anyone who needs more information can call Taylor at 620-331-9178.
