Two people are injured in a crash in rural Bourbon County.
38-year-old Seth Uttinger and 41-year-old April Edwards, both of Fort Scott, were seriously injured yesterday (Wednesday) evening in an accident on a gravel road northwest of Fort Scott. Uttinger was driving a 2005 Chevy Aveo and Edwards was his passenger when the two approached a stop sign at a T-junction at the intersection of 205th Street and Osage Road. Uttinger attempted to make a left turn onto southbound 205th Street when his car was struck in the intersection by a Dodge Ram pickup. The driver of the pickup – identified as 20-year-old Charles B. Smith of Paulden, Arizona – was not hurt in the accident, but both Uttinger and Edwards suffered serious injuries. They were both taken to Joplin's Freeman Hospital for treatment.
