The City of Coffeyville will begin its annual chlorine flushing program at the start of next month.
The routine maintenance, overseen by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, helps clear build-up from the city’s water system. Starting Friday, August 1st, the City will switch to free chlorine as the primary disinfectant, with hydrant flushing set to begin Monday, August 4th. The process may last up to four weeks.
Residents may notice cloudy water, unusual taste or odor or lower water pressure, but officials say the water remains safe to drink. For questions, call the Water Treatment Plant at (620)252-6150.
