A deputy for the Roger County, Oklahoma, Sheriff's Department is arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated.

Justin Book was arrested while operating his patrol vehicle near his home in Claremore on Monday morning. Claremore Police responded after receiving a complaint from a citizen about a damaged street sign. Upon investigation, officers learned Book had struck the sign and had also driven over his own mailbox. Book admitted that he had taken an Ambien and had also consumed a beverage containing rum.

Book has been charged with DUI and failure to stop at a stop sign. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
