A state senator from Johnson County announces his bid to be the Democrat candidate for Kansas Governor.
Ethan Corson has thrown his hat into the ring for the race to be Kansas' next governor. Corson is a native Kansan who grew up in Shawnee Mission and played baseball for Garden City Community College. A lawyer by trade, Corson was first elected to the state senate in 2020 and currently represents Senate District 7 in the Kansas City Metro area.
He becomes the second Democrat to announce his candidacy, joining fellow state senator Cindy Holscher in vying for their party's nomination. Eight Republicans have also entered the race, including Senate President Ty Masterson who announced his candidacy last weekend.
