Open House in Chautauqua County Regarding Evergy Route

An upcoming open house in Chautauqua County will discuss potential routing network options from Evergy that would run through a large portion of the county.

Evergy is reviewing potential routes for a new transmission line that would strengthen the regional power grid. County Commissioiner Rodney Shaw says Evergy has contacted those that are directly impacted by the plans.

The proposed transmission line project would run from Buffalo Flats, which is in Sedgwick County west of Wichita, to Delaware in Southeast Chautauqua County. The line would also run through parts of Sumner and Cowley counties.

Shaw says this line could potentially also help people in Northeast Oklahoma.

The open house is next Wednesday, July 30th, at Sedan High School, where Evergy is sending 20 representatives to answer questions and provide more information on the plans. The transmission line map can be found HERE.
