Parsons to Begin Flushing of Water Supply System

The City of Parsons plans to use a free chlorine residual starting Monday.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment recommends that public water supplies that utilize a combined chlorine residual perform an annual cleaning of the water distribution system. The cleaning starts at 6:00am and run for about three weeks. During that period of time, residents may notice some chlorine tastes and odors in the water.

The City says there is no cause for alarm and this is being done purely as a precautionary measure, and as part of their ongoing efforts to provide the people of Parsons with the safest possible drinking water. For questions regarding this process, contact Director of Utilities Derek Clevenger (620)421-7020.
