County EMS services and ways to improve them was once again the main topic at this week's Wilson County Commission meeting.
Neodesha City Administrator Brogan Jones was present for the second consecutive meeting, to speak on behalf of the city and their financial difficulties maintaining EMS service. He says one idea is to invest in a transfer service.
County commissioners asked Jones, along with Wilson Medical Center CEO Tom Hood, and Fredonia EMS Director Todd Ballard, to brainstrom potential collaboration efforts that would benefit all parties involved. Commission Chair Casey Lair says it's important to do the necessary research before making a big decision.
No action was taken on the matter, and both Jones and Ballard will have a meeting with County Coordinator Kris Marple next week. Additional items of business at this week's meeting was the purchase of a tractor for the Road and Bridge Department, as well as setting September 10th as the date for the budget and revenue neutral rate hearing.
