There are reports of significant flooding in multiple roadways in Independence.

 

The Independence Police Department has advised of flooding at the 300 block of South Wald, the 800 block of North Penn, the intersection of Sycamore and 14th, the intersection of Cottonwood and 11th, and the intersection of Taylor and 10th.

 

City Engineer John Garris says the flooding is minor, but to still take the proper precautions.

 

IPD will have the street department in those areas to put up necessary flood warnings. They advise drivers to be cautious when on the roadways, and to never drive into standing water.
