A Pittsburg man is in custody after a police chase yesterday morning.
Pittsburg Police were called to a local residence around 9am yesterday for reports of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they observed a man from the suspected address get into a car and flee. Police gave chase, but the man quickly lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The driver was arrested following a brief struggle with officers.
A search of the vehicle revealed illegal drugs. After interviewing bystanders at the scene of the original call, officers received reports that the man had allegedly attacked and threatened two women at the residence.
After treatment at nearby hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash, the suspect was arrested and faces multiple charges, including Felony Fleeing, Domestic Battery, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Possession of Narcotics.
The suspect is currently being held without bond. Police have not yet released the name of the accused man.
