Two Arkansas Corrections Employees Fired in Aftermath of Prisoner Escape

Two employees of the Arkansas Department of Corrections have reportedly been fired in the aftermath of the escape of convicted murderer Grant Hardin in May.

The two employees were terminated for violating facility policies. One reportedly allowed Hardin to walk outside of a building unsupervised while the other allowed the convict to walk through prison gates in a makeshift guard uniform without verifying his identity.

Hardin walked out of the North Central Unit in Calico Rock and was on the run for 12 days before he was recaptured. Hardin is currently being held in the Varner Supermax Unit in Gould, Arkansas.
