Police in Pittsburg are investigating the death of a woman found on Monday evening in a city park.

 

Police were called to a park in the northeast part of the city on Monday evening after an unresponsive woman was discovered in the area. Upon arrival, officers began life-saving measures on a 48-year-old woman. Those efforts were unsuccessful, and the woman was pronounced deceased. Officers say a bicycle was found nearby and they believe the woman suffered a medical episode, which led to her wrecking her bicycle. Police do not suspect foul play in the woman's death, but an autopsy is pending.

 

The woman's identity has not yet been released until her next of kin can be notified. The investigation remains ongoing.
