Steps are being taken in Chautauqua County to prepare for the annual budget proposal to be used for the next fiscal year.

 

County Auditor April Swartz was present at this week's commission meeting to provide an update regarding the current outlook on the revenue neutral rate. She says the county is above where they were a year ago.

 

Additionally, the commission spoke regarding the six county school districts, and their planned intentions for the budget this upcoming year. County Clerk Niki Collier says although impossible to know for sure at this time, there is a common trend with the districts.

 

The next meeting of the Chautauqua County commission will be July 21st at 8:30 a.m. CT, with the meeting taking place on the second floor of the courthouse in Sedan, and streamed live on Facebook.
