The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a resurfacing project next week on US-59 in Allen County.
The project will cover 21 miles of US-59 through Allen County from the Neosho line to the Anderson County line. During work, traffic will be restricted and guided by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow or stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes. KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. The contract for the work was awarded to Bettis Construction of Topeka for $2.5 million.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete by late September. The work is set to begin on Monday.
