Altamont City Council Discusses Revamping City Website

The Altamont City Council is considering a new city website with a new service provider.

At the most recent meeting, City Administrator LeeAnn Myers asked council members for their thoughts on switching to a new provider that would revamp the existing city website. Myers says part of the reason for a possible change is an increase in cost.

Myers added that an examination of the City of Parsons website and the Labette County website could provide a pathway for Altamont. Three areas for consideration include the overall cost, the possibility of better formatting of city data to make it more user-friendly, and the addition of custom city forms. However, Council member Lyle Sykes says he's not certain that a change is actually needed.

The decision on the issue was tabled until the July 24th meeting. In other business, council members also discussed a possible fundraising project to be funded by donations through the Parsons Area Community Foundation Fund and the reimbursement of money to a contractor that had worked on city sidewalks. Both issues were also tabled until the next meeting.
