Two people are dead following two separate accidents in Marion County on Saturday.
The first accident happened just before 1am on Saturday when 22-year-old Justin Williamson of Weiser, Idaho, attempted to pass another vehicle while traveling northbound on U-77 just north of the City of Florence. He struck a 2019 Toyota Camry head-on in the southbound lane. Williamson was fatally injured in the crash while the driver of the Camry, identified as 19-year-old Tina Ho of Wichita, received minor injuries.
The second fatal injury occurred just after 6 on Saturday night at the intersection of US-50 and Nighthawk Road in Peabody. A 2022 Lincoln Nautilus driven by 92-year-old Ronald Ludwig of Florence failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by a semi. Ludwig sustained a minor injury while the passenger in his SUV, 92-year-old Dorothy Conyers of Marion, was killed. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
