A Pennsylvania man is seriously injured after being struck by a car while bicycling near Independence.

53-year-old John Tim of Bradford, Pennsylvania, was seriously injured in an accident that occurred around 9:15 last night on US-160 about three miles east of Independence. Tim was traveling eastbound on the highway when he was struck from behind by a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by 36-year-old Cynthia Lowry of Cherryvale. Tim was taken to Ascension St John's Medical Center in Tulsa. Lowry was uninjured.
