Law enforcement officers in Branson respond to a report of a shooting at Silver Dollar City that turns out to be a hoax.

Multiple agencies including the Stone County Sheriff's Department, and police from Branson West , Reeds Spring, and Kimberling City along with troopers from the Missouri Highway Patrol all responded to the report that came in around 9:20 yesterday morning. Initial reports had indicated a possible shooting outside of the amusement park, but responding agencies quickly determined that no such incident had actually occurred and that there was no threat to the public. Operations at Silver Dollar City were not interrupted by the report. Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader commented that, even though the reports were unfounded, the response by local law enforcement was outstanding.
