Wilson County is searching for ways to improve EMS service quality across the county.
That's the latest following this week's county commission meeting, in which representatives from the City of Neodesha, Fredonia Regional Hospital, and Wilson Medical Center were all present to speak to the commission.
Neodesha City Administrator Brogan Jones says the city of Neodesha is having to cut back on EMS expenses.
Neodesha Police Chief and Director of Public Safety Sam Tomlinson also joined Jones at the meeting. Jones says this is an immediate concern for Neodesha.
There was a lengthy discussion with Wilson Medical Center CEO Tom Hood, and Fredonia EMS Director Todd Ballard, regarding better collaboration efforts for county medical services. Commissioner Andrew Miller says there will be another meeting regarding the issue in the coming weeks.
Additional items of business at this week's meeting were department updates from Road and Bridge Director Kary Tatum and Register of Deeds Christina Slaughter.
