A recent traffic stop in Independence leads to the arrest of two individuals on drug charges.
Around midnight on the night of June 30th, officers from the Independence Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of South 10th Street. After an investigation, the officer placed both the driver and the passenger in the vehicle under arrest for multiple charges. 39-year-old John Wesley Jackson and 38-year-old Kimri Jane Vance, both of Independence, face charges of possession of an opiate, use or possession with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia into the body, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, criminal carrying of a weapon, and criminal use of weapons. Jackson faces additional charges related to the traffic stop.
Both are currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
