A man and a teen are dead following a July 3rd accident on Kanopolis Lake in Ellsworth County.

The 44-year-old man and two 14-year-old girls were swimming off a boat last Thursday evening when the weather changed quickly and prevented the three victims from getting back to their boat. One of the girls was rescued from the water by a camper, who went into the water and helped bring the girl to shore. The survivor is the daughter of the male victim and was taken to a Wichita hospital in serious condition. The bodies of her father and her friend were recovered from the lake on Saturday.
