Counterfeit money continues to show up in the four-states; this time it's in Jay, Oklahoma.
Jay Police are taking reports of a male and female passing fake $20.00 bills in the area.
The cash is marked with the words “REPLICA” and “COPY” in the upper left corner of the bill, under the serial number. Some bills also say they are not legal tender and for use in motion pictures. The bills are also printed on paper different to the touch from real money and does not have a security strip.
Local businesses also report receiving several counterfeit bills. Jay Police urge businesses in fake money detection for their employees. They also suggest purchasing a counterfeit bill detector marking pen to alert you if a bill is fake.
If you have any information on the fake money, please contact the Jay Police Department at 918-253-4277.
