The Carl Junction City Council will move forward in the impeachment process against Mayor Mike Moss.
Last night, the council voted to hold the hearing in council chambers in or around Monday, August 4th, based on four charges of “conduct constituting malfeasance in office.”
A complaint by council member James Shanks accuses Moss of a derogatory statement repeated several times regarding female city employees.
Nate Dally, attorney with Lauber Municipal Law, Carl Junction's outside counsel, says last night's vote was to give people an idea of what the charges are and where proceedings are headed.
Moss declined to comment; it will take a 2/3rds majority to impeach him.
