Copan Man Facing Act of Violence Charges

A Copan man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening someone and smashing a car windshield.

53-year-old Robert Blevins was charged yesterday with two counts of threatening to perform an act of violence and damage to an automobile.

The Bartlesville Police Department says the incident took place on June 25 when Blevins allegedly attempted to race the victim in his vehicle. After the race, Blevins followed the victim as they drove to their residence. He allegedly got out of his vehicle with a knife in his hand. After an argument, Blevins allegedly went to his vehicle, grabbed a tire iron, and smashed the back windshield of the victim's vehicle. Further statements say Blevins allegedly called the victim two hours later and threatened to kill them if they didn't drop charges.

Blevins has previous felony convictions from 1997 for second-degree burglary and knowingly withholding stolen property.

Blevins's bond is set at $20,000; his next court appearance is set for August 6th.
