USD 286 announces the hiring of a new superintendent.
Jamie Wetig is a veteran educator entering his 27th year in public education. He began his career in the classroom, teaching Social Studies for nine years before moving into leadership roles. Over the past 17 years, Wetig has held multiple administrative positions, including ten years as a building principal, one year as Director of Business and Finance, and six years as a district superintendent. He says his one core mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
Wetig has a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University and a Specialist in Education Degree in Professional Studies-Leadership from Fort Hays State University.
