Driving down Range Line Road in Joplin may be more difficult, as a busy intersection goes under extensive renovation.
The City of Joplin says the east side of the intersection at 15th Street and Range Line will be closed as of Monday, July 7. The full project, expected to be finished in November, will allow workers to build dedicated right-turn lanes, a new traffic signal, and “defined entrances” into area buildings. The project would also include an extension of 17th Street.
During the duration of construction, traffic heading east on 15th Street will only be able to turn south onto Range Line Road. Traffic heading south on Rangeline can either continue straight or turn west onto 15th Street. Northbound traffic on Range Line will not be allowed to turn at this intersection.
D&E Plumbing and Heating is the contractor for the $1.5 million project and is also funded in part by TIF district finances and MoDOT.
