Tonight will be the first night fireworks can be shot off in many area communities.

While most people are excited for fireworks, it's not always a fun time for everyone or everything. Coffeyville Friends of Animals Becky Barnhart says she hopes people have made arrangements for their pets.
 

Barnhardt says a dog in a new home, their first experience with a fireworks show, could set their behavior with them in the future. She says you want to make sure they feel safe and comfortable.
