The city of Caney extends the deadline for shooting fireworks in the city limits to Saturday, July 5th, at 11:59 p.m.
Mayor Josh Elliott and Police Chief Ike Dye say that with the holiday falling on a Friday this year, many families and residents have weekend plans, and the city wants to support activities in a safe and responsible manner.
Dye says city guidelines, however, still need to be followed.
