The Kansas Department of Transportation is pushing back a bridge project in Montgomery County.
Originally scheduled to start the week of July 7th, a bridge repair project on U.S. 160 over Big Hill Creek about two miles east of U.S. 169 will now begin the week of July 21st.
KDOT says the repair work will extend the bridge's useful life. During construction, the bridge will be reduced to one lane at a time. Traffic will be controlled by signals at each end of the work zone. Drivers should be prepared for stops and potential delays of up to 15 minutes. Weather permitting, crews hope to be finished by the end of April 2026. Wildcat Construction of Wichita is the prime contractor on the $1.76 million project.
