Montgomery County is making more changes to South Buckeye.
Following the recommendations outlined in a recent engineering safety study, and in response to storm-related damage, the County has made the decision to permanently close the curve at the intersection of Buckeye Street and James School Road. To improve long-term safety and traffic flow, this section of roadway will be reconfigured into a standard T-intersection. Interim safety measures have already been implemented, including the installation of signs and barricades to guide drivers and ensure public safety.
The full removal of the curve and completion of the T-intersection will be included as part of a future road improvement project. The County says they appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as they work to enhance roadway safety. For any questions, contact the Public Works Department at (620)330-1170.
