One person is injured after a fight between two men at a Joplin residence.
The Joplin Police Department says officers responded to a reported shooting just after 10:00 Wednesday night at 1329 Grand Avenue. The caller reported that her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Steven Williams, of Joplin, came to her home and was causing a disturbance.
When the woman and 24-year-old Teegan Hasty went outside to see if there was damage to the property, Williams and Hasty got into a physical altercation. It is alleged that Williams assaulted Hasty, and then Williams was shot.
He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
JPD is looking to charge Williams for assault, domestic assault, vandalism, and trespassing. Williams is not in custody.
There are no charges against Hasty at this time, as the shooting is determined to be in self-defense.
