An Afton, Oklahoma woman is arrested on animal cruelty charges.
33-year-old Kyleigh Estes is charged with putting a dog in a kennel and throwing it into Grand Lake.
The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department says they responded to a call May 25th for a call of a dog found dead inside a kennel near the Isles End Cove area.
Estes says she is overwhelmed with multiple dogs and is going through a divorce. She also says her acts were not in retaliation for the divorce.
Authorities say Estes admitted to the charges, believing the dog was at his end-of-life stage. She also says the dog was older, urinating all over the house, tearing things up, and being territorial with her other dogs.
Estes' next court date is set for July 11th. She has been released after paying $10,000 bond.
