KHP Says Slow Down This Summer

The Kansas Highway Patrol reminds drivers to pay attention and obey speed limits as you hit the highways this summer.

This reminder comes after a Troop A officer stopped a driver and cited him for traveling 143 mph in a posted 75 mph zone. The driver cited being late for work as his reason for excessive speed. KHP officials say calling ahead to let someone know you're running late is better than not showing up at all.

Remember, use responsible driving behaviors, such as avoiding impaired driving, obeying speed limits, and always wearing your seat belt.
