Fence Project to begin soon on U.S. 400

The Kansas Department of Transportation is announcing that a guard fence project will begin soon on U.S. 400 in Greenwood County.

The project will replace a guard fence for over 15 miles from the highway’s east junction with Kansas Highway 99 east to the Wilson County line. Work is expected to start the week of July 7th and should completed by the end of December. During construction, traffic will be managed by flaggers and a pilot car. Drivers should be prepared for stops and potential delays of up to 15 minutes.

Barkley Construction of Wichita is the prime contractor on the nearly $1.2 million project. KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
