Wilson County has approved a road agreement pertaining to the Sunflower Skies solar project.

 

The county commission unanimously approved a motion to continue forward with the road agreement between Wilson County and Savion Energy. The decision was reached following a 30-minute executive session with attorney Jacob Bielenberg of Fisher Patterson Sayler & Smith, who has served as the commission's lead council during the Sunflower Skies process.

 

The roads affected by the agreement are 900 Road, Scott Road, and south to 800 Road. Construction of the solar project facilities will take place on the impacted roads, with no timetable for a start date known at this time.

 

Additional items of business at this week's commission meeting were updates from County Coordinator Kris Marple, and County Health Director Amy Lell.
