End of 6th Street in Cherryvale to Become One-Way

A section of 6th in Cherryvale is going to become a one-way street to reduce traffic on the residential street.

Residents on the east side of Cherryvale have asked the city to convert a short section of 6th Street from Pine to Olive to a one-way street, with travel being east to west.

Resident Jim Clay says he believes the increased traffic and large vehicles driving down the narrow street is due to GPS routing traffic through the area.

Clay says he's had his yard torn up by large vehicles not being able to get around the curve at the end of 6th Street and Pine.

The City Council approved the change to a one-way street and has also ordered some signage to help direct traffic to and from Big Hill Lake on main roads.
