McDonald County, Missouri, first responders perform a water rescue to save two women on Elk River.
The McDonald County Sheriff's Department and Pineville Fire Department say the call came in around 10:30 yesterday morning between Pineville and Noel near HH Highway.
Both women were caught in a raft by swift water and were pinned against a tree. They used a cell phone to call 911 with their location. Both were rescued unharmed.
Deputy Chris Allison with the McDonald County Sheriff's Office says Elk River has come down, but swift water makes some spots harder to see, but blamed the downed tree across the river as the major cause of the incident. MCSO and area businesses will work to have the tree removed as soon as possible.
