A former Coffeyville City Commissioner will remain on the ballot despite recent resignation.
Don Edwards, who resigned from the city commission earlier this month, will remain on the ballot for the upcoming November election. In his letter of resignation, Edwards said he would reach out to the County Clerk about removing his name from the November ballot. According to the county clerk's office, Edwards did not reach out to have his name removed. The clerk's office says no names can be added or removed after the June 2nd deadline passed.
There are three open spots on the commission. Joining Edwards on the ballot are current Mayor Deborah Maples and two new candidates, William Kendall and Michael Golden. Pam Jones was nominated by the City Commission to fill the remainder of Edward's term.
