Independence Community College continues to make progress on a collection of photo and video archives that honor the life and career of William Inge.
Inge was born in Independence in 1913, and attended ICC before receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Kansas. Inge would later author two novels, nine films and TV shows, and more than two dozen plays, winning a Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award as well.
ICC Library Services Director Sarah Owen says the college has hundreds of materials to work with.
Website design has been delayed due to the loss of a previous grant for the project. Owen says there is still quite a bit done to this point.
ICC has the most extensive collection of Inge material, with more than 400 total interviews, manuscripts, programs, and more.
