UPDATE 6:20 p.m.: Montgomery county is now included in the "moderate" risk of severe weather, which is a level 4 out of 5 risk according to the Storm Prediction Center. All modes of severe weather are possible, including tornadoes.

Timing for northeast Oklahoma is expected between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., although storms could start as early as 9 and even earlier than that in Southeast Kansas.
UPDATE 3:50 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 10:00pm. This includes Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson counties in Kansas and Osage, Washington and Nowata Counties in Oklahoma.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving across the Flint Hills this morning, bringing severe thunderstorm warnings for south central Kansas and north central Oklahoma. The primary threats include 60 – 70 mph wind gusts and heavy rain.
Another round of severe weather is expected this afternoon through evening across all of Kansas. Southeast Kansas will see an enhanced risk of severe weather, with tennis ball-size hail possible in addition to 60-80 mph wind gusts and a few tornadoes possible as well. This second round is more likely to develop after 3 p.m.
In addition, a flood watch is in place for southeast Kansas through Wednesday afternoon.
