The Bartlesville Police Department is investigating a five-vehicle crash.

Bartlesville Police, Fire and EMS responded to the crash in the 1700 block of Washington Boulevard at around 7:15am this morning. According to BPD, traffic had slowed in the area and a truck towing a trailer with two horses failed to stop in time. This triggered a chain-reaction involving five vehicles.

Three people were taken to Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Hospital with minor to moderate, non-life-threatening injuries. The horses did not appear to be injured. As a result of the incident, all southbound lanes were temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the scene and ensure public safety. The roadway has since been reopened. BPD is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
