The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Chautauqua in Chautauqua County.
The advisory was issued due to possible contamination of the city's public water supply following a water line break. Customers of the City of Chautauqua public water supply should boil water for at least one minute prior to consumption or use bottled water instead. Dispose of ice cubes from trays or automatic ice makers and disinfect dishes and food preparation surfaces. Water is safe for bathing, but young children should be supervised to prevent accidental ingestion
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
