The Independence City Commission will meet tonight and discuss the appointment of individuals to multiple city boards.
On tonight's agenda, commissioners are expected to fill vacant seats on multiple city boards, including the Planning and Zoning Board, the City Rec Commission, and the Library Board. Commissioners will also consider an ordinance that would place a temporary moratorium on the Systems Development Charge or SDC. The SDC is a one-time fee for all housing units assessed at the customer's request for a water meter installation. The purpose of the moratorium is to create a more favorable environment to develop residential housing in the city.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and is also available for online viewing via the City's website.
