The Coffeyville City Commission meets tonight for the first time since Commissioner Don Edwards resigned.
Recently added to the agenda is accepting Edwards' letter of resignation in addition to the discussion to fill his vacancy on the commission.
Coffeyville City Manager Ben Brubaker says the commissioners will need to vote on someone to fill Edwards' remaining six-month term.
The last time a commissioner resigned, the commission took applications before appointing someone to finish the term. Edwards' term is set to expire before the first meeting of January 2026, so whoever is appointed will finish that term.
The agenda for tonight meeting includes a presentation from the Montgomery County Action Council, a resolution for demolition of 11 structures in town and a couple of resolutions for construction contracts. There is also an executive session for attorney client privilege.
The meeting starts at 6:30pm in the Commission Room at City Hall and can be viewed online at the City's YouTube channel.
