The weather held off for the spectators at this year's Brian Knisley Memorial Demolition Derby over the weekend in Coffeyville, but the mud made for some interesting demo action.
Team Mayhem of Kyle Freeman, Allen Winters and Justin Stephen took first place in the full-size division, cashing in a $15,000 payday. Justin Stephen found himself in a dog fight late in the feature against eventual runner-up Nathan Sharp of Team Slayer and third-place finisher Jimmy Hadley of Team Tall Boys.
Team FSU earned a $6,000 payday and a BKM Compact title for Travis Beery, Chance Beery and Kooper Smith.
Kooper Smith was able to outlast Tracy Miller of Plum Crazy, and eventual third-place solo driver Anthony Smith of Pretty-in-Pink.
In the Bonestock division, Michael Coats collected $2,000, against eventual runner-up and first-time driver Lori Dixon. Rounding out the Bonestock solo podium was veteran Augustus Farthing.
Heston Kavanagh was named Full-Size Maddog along with his CGR teammates winning a $1,000 prize.
Compact Maddog went to Tyler Meats of Team NRO with another $1,000 prize as well.
In the Bonestock division, Tyler Vincent set the pace for the field before getting hung up late in the single heat.
The Knisley Family thanks all who attended and braved the mud for the event.
