The Labette County Sheriff's Office releases the data from its Memorial Day Click-It-or-Ticket campaign.
The campaign ran from May 18 through June 1, covering the Memorial Day Weekend and focused on unrestrained drivers. L-C-S-O reports 131 vehicle stops during that time that resulted in 43 seat belt citations and 2 child restraint citations. The Sheriff’s Office also issued 14 speeding citations along with another 20 citations for various other traffic infractions, including 3 DUI arrests.
Labette County Undersheriff Greg Haraughty stated that he hopes those who were stopped and cited learned from the experience and will refrain from unsafe driving behavior to make all roads safer for Kansas drivers.
