A 16-year-old Anderson County boy is dead following a weekend accident on a UTV.

16-year-old Wyatt Whitham of Kincaid was seriously injured in a UTV accident that occurred around 11:30pm on Saturday night. Whitham was driving a 2015 Polaris Ranger UTV southbound on Northwest Marshall Road about 2 ½ miles west of the City of Garnett. Whitham attempted to make a left turn onto another road , but instead struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn onto the driver’s side.  Whitham was take to Frontier Medical in Kansas City where he later died from his injuries.

A 15-year-old male passenger in the UTV sustained minor injuries while a third passenger – a 14-year-old boy – was uninjured.
