Today is election day for the Cherokee Nation, and polls are open for a few more hours.
Poll workers at Native American Fellowship say they've had a decent turnout. Election worker Denise Gates says as of 3 p.m. they've had about 60 people through the door.
Election worker Brook Littlepage says there have been some voting delays due to weather across the Cherokee Nation.
On the ballot for District 11 Tribal Councilor which includes South Coffeyville, Vinita, Welch and Nowata is Kendra Sue McGeady, Janatha Ketchum-Carter and Timothy Tyler Keeton.
At-large voters must choose between Johnny Jack Kidwell, William Crowder, Brandi Ross and Janathan Carter. Polls close at 7 except where there are delays, such as the Rudisill Library in Tulsa where voting has now been extended until 8:30.
