The United States Senate is marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
Co-chair of the Senate Army Caucus Kansas Senator Jerry Moran sponsored a senate resolution along with his fellow co-chair, Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island. Moran recently spoke on the floor of the Senate in support of the resolution. He says American soldiers have always represented the greatest fighting force in the world.
Moran says the values of the Army are expressed by those who wear the uniform of the United States.
The U.S. Army is the largest branch of the American armed forces with nearly 450,000 active duty personnel and nearly 500,000 reserve forces.
